Usage AI Website

A rebranding effort of Usage AI's website.

This was my first large project at Usage AI; it shipped two months after I joined! You can see it live here. We were undergoing a rebranding and that included changing our logo and website altogether. The website needed a thorough redesign to align with our new cloud-like logo and color scheme.

The website redesign presented several challenges, including migrating the codebase to Next.js 13, refactoring old code, redesigning old components, creating new reusable components, and implementing a whole theming and typography system. With a limited timeframe and a small team consisting of a UI/UX designer and myself (who recently joined the company), we had to dive deep into the existing codebase and work collaboratively to deliver the project on time. This involved updating the project's dependencies, libraries, and configurations, while ensuring that we didn't break the application's functionality. We also had to carefully redesign old components and create new reusable components to meet the project's requirements and provide an improved user experience. Additionally, implementing a new theming and typography system required a deep understanding of the project's design and an ability to create a consistent look and feel across the entire website.

Another exciting task I worked on was automating the CI/CD pipeline, which we did not initially have in place. Prior to this, all deployment tasks for the website were carried out manually through the terminal. This task required me to gain familiarity with the concepts and tools involved in DevOps practices. It involved streamlining the process of checking dependencies, building and containerizing Docker images, and deploying them to EC2 instances. This improved the overall efficiency of our workflow, reducing 50% in deployment time.
